Fall information
With the presence of GAIA since August 2023, a certain number of investments were made according to different criteria :
- Upgrading the existing,
-
- Renovation of the seminar room,
- Purchase of practice equipment (carpet, bullets, buckets, etc…),
- Replacement of all course and practice signage,
- Improved field bunkers,
- Renovation of ladies locker rooms and hallway
- Renewal :
- Replacement of the cart fleet
- Modernization of the existing:
- Construction of a new cart shelter,
- Construction of soft, tarmac paths on the course to facilitate the movement of players, machines and carts.
- Responsible approaches:
- Vertidrain operation on the fairways to improve the plant cover, save phytosanitary products and reduce irrigation water consumption,
- Installation of robotic mowers to replace thermal and noisy machines,
- Security, improvement and modernization of the irrigation network.
A CSR approach :
Our sector must face a major ecological transition since :
- Plant protection products will be banned in 2025,
- Replacement over time of grass varietal collections,
- The first daily contribution for a golf course is becoming rarer : water.
Gaia has decided now 3 years of undertaking the necessary transformations to modernize its sites in order to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The upgrade of the Golf des Chanalets Bourg-Lès-Valence is an integral part of GAIA’s approach.
We will proceed, starting this week and during the winter period, to security, improvement and modernization of the irrigation network.
Securing the irrigation network :
The course was built in 2 tranches : 9 holes in the years 1990 and 9 other holes + compact course around twenty years ago.
Each construction has its own separate irrigation water supply without being connected.
The first loop of 9 holes have a drilling, the second loop of 9 holes has a supply to an agricultural canal managed by a union to which we belong.
We will “loop” the two half-networks to compensate for a possible failure of one of the two power supplies.
Improvement of the irrigation network :
The age of the existing network requires repairs to limit possible water losses as much as possible. (leak, etc..).
Improved watering techniques and equipment will be put in place to help understand the 20 coming years in a responsible manner while allowing us to respond to the constraints on water resources that may arise.
Modernization of the irrigation network :
The entire irrigation network will be computer controlled. Beyond programming, watering monitoring and reporting, it is a perfectly controlled water supply that we will be able to practice, ce, for more rational watering and therefore less consumption.
Finally, GAIA has contracted, for the successful completion of this major investment for the site, with one of the very best French golf irrigation providers and with one of the three leading manufacturers of irrigation equipment in the world.
Ce, to both have the best speakers but also and above all so that your golf practice is not disturbed. For example, interventions on golf structures will be carried out underground, excluding any unsightly or annoying trenches and allowing continuous play.
In parallel, the last quarter 2024 allows you to understand the investment planning 2025.
Subject to validation, the first thoughts concern :
- Second autumnal vertidrain of the fairways,
- Renovation of men's locker rooms and golf reception,
- Second section of the route,
- Educational and fun layout of the practice,
- Parking improvement,

Club activities in October:
- Friday 4: Rhône Valley Final. Your route will be dedicated all afternoon to this final.
- Sunday 6: Restaurant Cup. Individual Stableford in Shot-gun at 9 a.m. followed by lunch
- Monday 7: Tamalou’s Golf Cup, Shot-gun at 8:30 a.m. followed by a meal.
- Tuesday 8: GNTS, route reserved for the morning
- Saturday 12: Sun Cup, Ladies Scramble Team Competition for Two. This is the meeting between two teams, the Hills and the Provençales. Ladies, do not hesitate, fun and friendly formula followed by lunch. Registration at the golf reception. settlement
Sunday 13: Tour kids, place for young people from DA Clubs, on this occasion,some departures are reserved. For those who want it, a ranking competition is possible. - Thursday 17: Demo clubs Callaway
